An expensive African vacation may not be on everyone’s list of things to do in 2009, just because the world economy weakening by the minute. 1. Tunisia

The sea, sun, bazaars, Roman ruins and the great Sahara Desert all beckon in Tunisia. For those living in Europe, it’s a quick flight and under a $1000 for those traveling from the US. There are lots of guest houses? accommodations can easily be booked independently, as well as luxury hotels to choose from. And to top it all off, you can stay in Luke Skywalker’s home.
2. Marrakech

Direct flights from the US and Very cheap flights from Europe makes Marrakech a real possibility for a long exotic weekend getaway. Stay in the heart of the old medina at one of the lovely Riads, enjoy plenty of shopping in the old bazaars and truly fantastic food.
3. Cape Town

Cape Town is so fun and relaxing, though it’s a long flight to get there. It’s really worth to stay there, even for a week.
